Slovenia Distributes Flags and Constitutions to New Students

Slovenia is embarking on an initiative to distribute flags and copies of the constitution to all first-graders and first-year high school students. This program, termed a "Constitutional Welcome," aims to introduce young citizens to the nation's foundational law.

In total, 23,500 flags and 45,000 copies of the constitution are being prepared. While the flags were also distributed last year, the constitution copies are a new addition for this year's intake of students. The state is investing approximately 16,940 euros (excluding VAT) for the constitutions.

An additional 23,997 euros have been allocated for the flags. Similar to the previous year, members of the Slovenian Armed Forces in uniform will assist in distributing these materials at some schools.

The initiative underscores a commitment to civic education, ensuring that the youngest members of society are acquainted with the principles and framework of their nation's governance from an early age.
