Slovenia: Lottery jackpot of over 2 million euros won at gas station

A lucky ticket holder in Slovenia has won the jackpot in the 'Šestica' lottery game, securing a prize of 2,050,615.10 euros.

The winning ticket was purchased at the MOL gas station located at Ljubljanska cesta 91 in Slovenska Bistrica. The winning combination was 1-17-26-33-34-38.

After the deduction of a 15% tax, amounting to 307,592.2 euros, which will be allocated to the municipality of the winner's residence, the new Slovenian millionaire will take home 1,743,022.8 euros.

The winner can claim their prize starting June 3rd and has until August 6th of this year to do so. Lottery officials noted that this marks the eleventh time the 'Šestica' game has yielded a jackpot winner since its redesign.

The 'Loto' game was revamped on October 4, 2023, with 'Šestica' replacing the previous 'Sedmica' jackpot. Since then, the main prize has been drawn eleven times. The previous record jackpot for 'Šestica', valued at 2,329,866 euros, was won by someone who purchased their ticket online in December of last year.
