Slovenians Camouflaged Boat as Croatian Navy Vessel, Entered Protected Zone on Brijuni

Authorities intercepted a vessel in the waters of Brijuni National Park after it was found to be falsely representing itself as a Croatian Navy ship. The incident occurred during a period of heightened security due to the reported presence of Chief State Prosecutor Ivan Turudić on the island.

According to reports, a group of Slovenian and Croatian citizens aboard the boat systematically used fake military insignia and uniforms. Their aim was to bypass security screenings and avoid paying docking fees, permits, and entrance tickets to the Pula Port Authority, which manages the facilities in Fažana and Brijuni. The boat itself is privately owned by the Olimp Defense Group, a company co-owned by a Slovenian transporter and a retired Croatian army member.

Adding to the complexity, the vessel was reportedly captained by a Slovenian national, K.G., who is known to security services. His criminal record had previously led to the cancellation of a tender by the Ministry of Interior for the procurement of police boats. The suspicious movement of the boat near the protected individual triggered a response from the maritime police, Coast Guard, and military.

The vessel was intercepted on Brijuni, where a control was carried out. While the police administration briefly confirmed that proceedings are underway and declined to provide further details, unofficial sources indicate that the crew was issued a 1,000 euro fine on the spot and will be further questioned. The situation was reportedly flagged after the crew announced the arrival of a supposed Vietnamese military delegation, a claim later refuted by the Coast Guard.
