Small tourist plane crashes in Peru, 7 Italians among 13 dead

A tragic accident occurred in southern Peru when a small tourist plane crashed, resulting in the deaths of all 13 individuals on board. Seven Italian citizens were among the fatalities, according to reports citing local media. The group also included two Spanish and two German nationals.

The aircraft had departed from Pisco Airport and was headed for Nazca, a region famous for its ancient geoglyphs. However, the plane lost contact with air traffic control just minutes after takeoff, signaling the beginning of the disaster. State television TV Perú confirmed the loss of contact.

Initial reports indicate that the victims comprised 11 tourists and two pilots. The Italian embassy in Lima is reportedly in contact with Peruvian authorities to manage the aftermath of the crash and assist the families of the victims. The flight's destination was the renowned Nazca Lines archaeological site, a significant historical attraction in Peru.
