Small Truck Overturns in Keelung After Swerving to Avoid Vehicle; Driver Rescued

A small truck overturned on Jifeng Road in Keelung City on Saturday morning after its driver attempted to evade another vehicle. The incident, which occurred around 9 a.m., resulted in the driver becoming trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency services, including firefighters from the Anle branch, were dispatched to the scene following a public report. Upon arrival, rescuers found the driver unable to exit the truck due to severe deformation of the driver's side door. Firefighters utilized hydraulic rescue equipment to pry open the door and extricate the driver.

Fortunately, the driver sustained no apparent serious injuries and did not require hospitalization. The driver expressed gratitude to the firefighters for their assistance. According to the driver's account, strong winds and rain were present at the time, contributing to a loss of control when swerving to avoid the vehicle ahead, ultimately leading to the rollover.

The accident caused significant damage to the truck, with the driver's door being particularly compromised. The incident highlights the challenges of driving in adverse weather conditions, where visibility and vehicle handling can be severely impacted.
