These colorful decorations not only beautify the school grounds but also serve as educational tools, teaching students about the importance of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Every corner of the school showcases creativity and a deep commitment to environmental preservation. The campus is adorned with ornamental plants, herbs, and fruit trees, meticulously planted. SMK Bandar Baru UDA's continuous efforts in cultivating sustainability have earned it the Gold Showcase Award at the Johor state level. Principal Mohd. Khairul Mohd. Amin attributed this achievement to the strong support from the school community, particularly the teachers and the sustainability program coordinators. He noted that sustainability is now a key focus in the school's direction for 2026, a shift from previous planning. "Sustainability is among the important focuses we have set in the school's direction for the year 2026. Previously, this matter was not specifically included in the school's planning," he said. The school now emphasizes sustainability as a field of excellence alongside character, academics, co-curriculum, sports, digital innovation, and leadership.
