Sodra Publishes September Payment Schedule

Lithuania’s Sodra has released its September calendar for social-security payments, with dates varying according to the type of benefit and, for pensions, the payment method and recipient’s municipality.

Unemployment benefits are due on Sept. 21, child-care benefits on Sept. 15, child-support benefits on Sept. 24 and pension annuities on Sept. 25. Early old-age pensions are also scheduled for Sept. 21. Sick and maternity benefits should be paid within 17 working days after all documents and data have been submitted. Paternity benefits should arrive within five working days of the end of paternity leave.

Support payments sent through credit institutions are scheduled for Sept. 11. Home delivery through Lietuvos paštas services Bastaras and Rausidas, as well as collection at post offices, is scheduled from Sept. 10 through Sept. 26.

Sodra said pension timing depends partly on when the pension was awarded. Pensions granted by Feb. 29, 2012, are paid between the seventh and 12th day of the month. Pensions granted after March 1, 2012, or pensions paid on the 27th or 28th in September 2012, are paid between the 13th and 21st. Pensions granted after March 1, 2024, are paid between the seventh and 12th.

For recipients whose pensions arrive between the seventh and 12th, Swedbank payments are scheduled for Sept. 9, 10 or 11 depending on the municipality. Artea, formerly Šiaulių bankas, follows a similar three-day schedule by region and municipality.
