Soekarno-Hatta Airport Celebrates 81st Indonesian Independence Day with Flag Distribution and Festivities

In a vibrant display of national pride, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police distributed 500 Indonesian flags and stickers to travelers, marking the 81st anniversary of the nation's independence. Police Chief Kombes Pol Wisnu Wardana stated the distribution occurred simultaneously across Terminals 1, 2, and 3, highlighting cooperation with airlines and airport stakeholders. This patriotic gesture is part of broader social activities, including community service and health initiatives, designed to strengthen national unity and pride among citizens. Wardana emphasized the goal of fostering a sense of belonging and national pride during the independence commemoration. The airport's General Manager, Heru Karyadi, added that extensive patriotic decorations, including thousands of red and white ornaments, have been installed throughout the terminals to create a festive atmosphere. The airport is also hosting a series of cultural events, starting with traditional music performances like Gamelan and Angklung. The celebration will peak on August 17th with a synchronized rendition of the national anthem, followed by a traditional dance parade, souvenir distribution, and games, all aimed at immersing visitors in the spirit of independence under the theme "Indonesia Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous."
