Sokoto armoured vehicles reduce bandit attacks, says LG chair

Security in Sokoto State's Sabon Birni Local Government Area is significantly improving, according to Alhaji Hashimu Dantudu, the council chairman. He attributes this progress to the deployment of armored vehicles procured by the state government.

Dantudu shared these remarks on Sunday in Tsamaye Village while a state government delegation visited to condole with residents over the death of the local APC chairman. He noted a substantial reduction in bandit attacks since the armored vehicles became operational, enhancing the visible presence of security personnel.

He commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the initiative, describing it as a major boost to anti-banditry efforts. The chairman expressed optimism that sustained government commitment would eventually end banditry in the state.

The state government recently acquired 62 armored vehicles and 2,000 motorcycles for distribution to security agencies. This move aims to strengthen ongoing operations against bandits and other criminal elements across Sokoto.
