Some Pakatan Harapan assemblymen have returned their allocations

In Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, a number of state assemblymen from the former Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration have begun returning unspent government allocations. Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim confirmed that these returns include funds managed by State Assembly coordinators, with the specific amounts varying based on the remaining balances for each constituency.

Lasim noted that, to date, only the former Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, has fully returned all the allocations he received. He indicated that while others have made returns, they may not have submitted the complete amount disbursed, possibly because some funds were already used for public assistance or other welfare initiatives.

The directive for the return of these allocations, covering the period from July to September, was issued after the dissolution of the State Assembly on June 5. This move aims to reconcile funds allocated to assemblymen and coordinators from the previous government.

Representatives from the PH assemblymen, including J. Arul Kumar, have stated that the allocations were indeed spent on public welfare and that financial reports and remaining balances were submitted before the July 10 deadline. The Menteri Besar's office is currently reviewing the records for each assemblyman to determine the precise amounts still due.
