Son Sets Fire to Father's Wheelchair; Father Pleads for Intervention

An incident occurred in Mevlana Mahallesi where a son, identified as A.Ö., allegedly set fire to his father's electric wheelchair. The wheelchair was parked at the entrance of their three-story building. The father, C.Ö., who reportedly has difficulty walking, was the owner of the damaged mobility device.

Neighbors noticed the fire and immediately alerted emergency services. Police and fire brigades were dispatched to the scene. While police secured the area, firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. The electric wheelchair was completely destroyed, turning into ashes. An investigation into the incident has been launched by the authorities.

The father, C.Ö., voiced his deep distress and anger over the incident. He claimed that his son has a history of causing harm to his family and the community, including previously selling household items from their home. "I said my prayers, I was reading a book. He also stated that he had previously filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding his son's behavior.

C.Ö. pleaded with authorities to apprehend his son, stating, "Let the authorities catch my child as soon as possible and do whatever they will do. Take him away from me. Will they imprison him? Whatever they do, let them do it." He described his son's actions as harmful to his children and family, mentioning that items like televisions and phones have been taken and sold, often at a significant loss. He expressed a desire for his son to be held accountable and removed from his life.
