Son Spots Father Collapsed on Security Camera; Search Reveals Elderly Couple Reunited After Wife Wanders Off

In Ershui Township, Changhua County, a dramatic search and rescue unfolded, blending urgency with a heartwarming resolution. A son, unable to be home, used a remote security camera to witness his elderly father fall outside their home. The father's distress was palpable as he explained he was searching for his wife, who had wandered into a dense bush area hours earlier due to dementia.

Responding officers, upon learning of the missing elderly woman, immediately mobilized. They coordinated with the village chief and firefighters for a thorough search of the thick vegetation. Deep within the bushes, they located the wife, weak and unable to move from the muddy ground, clearly exhausted from her ordeal.

With the help of rescue equipment, the wife was carefully extracted. Her husband, who had suffered minor scrapes from his fall, and their son, who had rushed back upon hearing the news, accompanied her to the hospital. Fortunately, both individuals were reported to be in stable condition and suffered no serious injuries.

Authorities are using this incident to remind the public about the importance of checking in on elderly relatives, especially those living alone. They also recommend preventative measures for individuals with dementia, such as attaching "love bracelets" with contact information or embroidering details onto clothing to aid in their safe return should they wander.
