South Korea Braces for Heatwave with Highs of 34°C, Eastern Coast to See Heavy Rain

Much of South Korea faces a sweltering Monday with heatwave advisories in effect, as daytime temperatures are expected to climb as high as 34 degrees Celsius.

Adding to the heat, the eastern coastal regions are bracing for significant rainfall, with forecasts indicating up to 80 millimeters of rain. This precipitation is expected to bring some relief from the intense heat in those specific areas.

The weather agency predicts morning lows between 21 and 26 degrees Celsius and highs ranging from 27 to 34 degrees. These temperatures are expected to remain above the seasonal average for the coming days, continuing the pattern of unusually warm weather.

Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat and potential flash floods in areas receiving heavy rain. The meteorological administration also warned of strong winds and high waves in offshore waters, urging caution for ships and vessels operating in the affected seas. Meanwhile, air quality is expected to be good across the country.
