South Tangerang Narcotics Chief Arrested by National Police for Alleged Drug Involvement

AKP Pardiman, the Head of the Narcotics Unit for the South Tangerang Police, has been arrested by the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) on suspicion of involvement in drug-related crimes.

Brig. Gen. Pol. Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, stated in Jakarta on Monday (July 27, 2026) that Pardiman is suspected of engaging in the illicit trafficking and abuse of narcotics, as well as abusing his authority in law enforcement related to drug cases. Pardiman was apprehended along with six of his subordinates and one member of the Aceh Regional Police.

Santoso indicated that a full release detailing the chronology and developments of the case would be provided later. This arrest is part of Bareskrim Polri's ongoing efforts in 2026 to address police personnel involved in drug cases. The agency has previously taken action against other officers.

Earlier in 2026, Bareskrim Polri investigators named the former Head of the Bima City Police, Didik Putra Kuncoro, a suspect in a drug possession case, which is now in the trial phase. In May 2026, the agency also named the former Head of the Kutai Barat Police Narcotics Unit, Deky Jonathan Sasiang, a suspect in a drug trafficking network case linked to a dealer named Ishak.
