South Tangerang Police Narcotics Chief Arrested in Etomidate Case

Indonesian police have arrested the head of the Narcotics Unit of the South Tangerang Police, AKP Pardiman, along with six other members of the unit. The arrests are linked to the distribution of the drug etomidate. The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police also apprehended one member from the Aceh Regional Police as part of the operation.

However, the Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, clarified that AKP Pardiman is not involved in the etomidate distribution case. Hermanto stated that Pardiman was only being questioned as the leader of his unit. "For the Head of the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit, he is not involved in the case of the two people detained by the Directorate of Narcotics Crimes of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit," Budi said.

According to Budi, the Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating and has detained two suspects for possessing and distributing 200 etomidate doses. The suspects are identified by the initials MR and DD. One of the detained individuals holds a position as the Head of the Narcotics Unit at the South Tangerang Police, while the other is a member of the Aceh Regional Police. The examination of the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit head was conducted because he is the head of the unit.
