Southern Vietnam Braces for Thunderstorms After Heatwave

The Southern Meteorological and Hydrological Station has reported the formation of thunderstorms across several southern provinces, bringing much-needed rain after days of oppressive heat. Residents in areas like Vĩnh Long, Đồng Tháp, Tây Ninh, and Lâm Đồng can expect showers accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The weather agency's satellite and radar imagery indicates that these storm clouds are developing and will likely expand, potentially reaching Ho Chi Minh City within the next hour. While the rain offers a respite from the high temperatures, which are hovering around 33-35 degrees Celsius, the public is cautioned about potential hazards such as lightning strikes, hail, and strong gusts of wind, with localized flooding also a possibility.
