Spain to establish border controls on travelers from Italy amid migration dispute

Spain announced Friday it will establish border controls for flights and ships arriving from Italy, effective from midnight Saturday until September 7. This decision stems from a dispute with Italy concerning irregular migration and reciprocal border measures.

The Spanish government stated that passport, nationality, and visa checks would be conducted for Italian passengers and any other travelers arriving from Italy.
