Spain visit highlights power of education: Sultan Bin Ahmed

Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, received a distinguished honor during his visit to Spain. He was awarded the Gold Medal of Honour by the Royal European Academy of Doctors in Barcelona, in collaboration with the Diplomatic Academy of the Kingdom of Spain and the Consular Corps.

It is a particular pleasure to conclude our visit, having begun it by celebrating the achievements of our graduates at the University of Barcelona and ending it in the company of such a distinguished gathering, enjoying your generous hospitality and warm welcome.

The accolade acknowledges Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed's significant contributions to higher education, his charitable endeavors supporting academic advancement, and his leadership. The ceremony coincided with his visit to Spain, which began with celebrating the achievements of University of Sharjah graduates at the University of Barcelona.

During a dinner hosted in his honor, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed emphasized the shared commitment between the UAE and Spain, and their educational institutions, in leveraging education to shape the future and enhance lives. He described advancing education and scientific research as a collective responsibility and a crucial investment in humanity's progress.
