Spending Rp6.94 Trillion in Three Years, Como Management Ready to Accept FFP Fines

Como 1907 has emerged as one of Italy's fastest-growing football clubs, transitioning from Serie D to Serie A and now preparing for Champions League competition within seven years. This remarkable ascent is fueled by substantial investments from its Indonesian owners, the Hartono family.

Since the 2024/2025 season, Como has allocated around 342 million euros (approximately $6.94 trillion Indonesian Rupiah) to player transfers. This spending places them behind only Juventus, AC Milan, and Napoli among Italian clubs during the same timeframe, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. This figure excludes player salaries and investments in infrastructure.

The club is also undertaking significant upgrades, including a 5 million euro investment in renovating its training center and a major modernization project for the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium. President Mirwan Suwarso indicated that the stadium renovations alone are estimated to cost 64 million euros to ensure it meets UEFA standards for hosting Champions League home games.

In the 2024/2025 season, Como spent approximately 110 million euros on new players, acquiring key figures like Maxence Caqueret and Tasos Douvikas. The following season, the club continued its aggressive transfer strategy, spending over 100 million euros, including a significant deal for Jesus Rodriguez. While some acquisitions have proven impactful, others, like Nicolas Kuhn, have yet to deliver expected results, with the club open to offers for such players.
