Sporting Gijón open to negotiating Dubasin's exit below release clause

Real Sporting de Gijón is exploring the possibility of selling player Jonathan Dubasin for less than his release clause, a significant shift from the club's initial stance. Executive president José Riestra communicated this to fans via social media, emphasizing that the club's preference was to retain its key players, including Dubasin.

Riestra explained that the club's willingness to negotiate stems from a "specific request from the player." Dubasin publicly stated his ambition to leave the club to "fulfill the dream" of playing in Spain's First Division. This personal aspiration has prompted the club to reconsider its position.

The club, however, maintains that any deal must meet its stipulated conditions. Initial offers from Osasuna reportedly include a base fee of four million euros, with additional variables tied to future performance. Dubasin initially joined Sporting Gijón last summer on loan, with an option to buy for 1.6 million euros from Swiss club Basel, a move that has now led to potential transfer negotiations.
