Sports Carnival to Integrate Athletics into Daily Life

Taipei will host the 2026 Wu Dong All-Around Sports Carnival on September 5 at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park. The event, announced at a press conference, aims to make sports an integral part of everyday life, moving beyond the realm of pure competition.

Under the theme "Play a Summer of Sports in Life," the carnival encourages the public to try various sports in a relaxed and engaging manner. Organizers hope to foster regular exercise habits by making sports accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of age or current fitness level. The event seeks to promote a lifestyle where sports are a natural extension of daily activities.

This year's carnival will showcase popular emerging sports such as pickleball and drone soccer, offering attendees a chance to experience these new activities. In addition to diverse sports experiences, the event includes activities like parent-child street dance and fancy rope skipping. A stamp-collecting challenge will encourage families to put away their devices and engage in outdoor activities together, creating shared memories and strengthening family bonds through sports.

Ye Zheng-yan, President of the Chinese Taipei Sports Federation, emphasized the event's goal: "We want sports to be more than just competition; we want it to be a part of life."
