Sports minister congratulates Egypt’s modern pentathlon teams after world championships

Egypt’s four-medal haul at the Modern Pentathlon World Championships in China prompted congratulations from Youth and Sports Minister Gohar Nabil, who praised the national team and the federation behind its campaign.

Nabil congratulated federation board members, led by Sherif al-Erian, as well as the athletes and their technical, administrative, and medical staff. He singled out Farida Khalil after her silver medal in the women’s individual event.

Khalil also joined Jana Attia and Janna al-Gendy to win silver in the women’s team event. The men’s team, made up of Moataz Mohamed, Mohannad Shaaban, and Mohamed al Ashqar, also claimed silver.

Egypt’s remaining medal came in the women’s relay, where Zeina Amer and Jana Attia won bronze. Nabil credited the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation with supporting the athletes and said its work had helped establish Egypt among the sport’s leading nations internationally.
