Sri Lanka Public Security Minister Inspects Three Prisons

Sri Lanka's Minister of Public Security, Anura Wijeyapala, conducted an inspection tour of three key correctional facilities: the Negombo Prison, the Pallansena Open Prison Camp, and the Wariyapola Prison. The visit aimed to assess the conditions and address the needs of the inmates within these institutions.

During his tour, Minister Wijeyapala paid close attention to the deficiencies faced by the prisoners. He specifically examined issues related to accommodation capacity and sanitation standards within the facilities. The minister also evaluated the current state of the prison hospital, looking into potential enhancements to its services and infrastructure.
