Sri Lanka seeks applicants for paramedical training

Sri Lanka is inviting applications for training programs in eight paramedical professions, a move aimed at bolstering the nation's healthcare human resources. The Ministry of Health and Mass Media is spearheading this initiative as part of a strategic plan to cultivate a skilled and knowledgeable workforce within the health sector.

The training courses are designed to equip individuals for roles in specialized paramedical fields. These include Dental Technicians, Public Health Inspectors, Prosthetists and Orthotists, Health Entomology Officers, School Dental Therapists, Electro Cardiographers, Dispensers, and Electro Encephalographers.

Eligibility for these programs is open to students who have successfully passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in science or mathematics streams between the years 2019 and 2023. This criteria, outlined in the government gazette notification dated August 7, 2026, ensures a foundational academic background for aspiring paramedical professionals.

The application deadline for these crucial training courses is August 31, 2026. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery through specialized training and capacity building.
