Starfelt Ends Celta’s Wait for a Win, but Only with Another Draw

Celta left the Coliseum with another draw and an uncomfortable certainty: five matches have passed without a victory. A corner and Carl Starfelt’s header rescued a 1-1 result against Getafe, but even a red card could not give the visitors the win they have been chasing.

The match revolved around one corner of the pitch. Both goals came from corners sent toward the same area. In the first half, Satriano reached the ball before everyone else to score his first goal of the season. In the second, Starfelt appeared at the crucial moment to level the match, after earlier preventing Terrats from scoring with a vital defensive intervention.

Celta arrived with only one point from a possible 12. It was still too early to call the run a crisis, but the first signs of concern were difficult to ignore. Coach Claudio Giráldez made six changes, bringing in Starfelt, Javi Galán, El-Abdellaoui, Hugo González, Pablo Durán and Iago Aspas.

Kiko Femenía then left injured, with Andrés García taking his place. The substitute added depth on the right, and that side produced the corner that decided the first half. Mojica sent it into the area, Hugo González cleared uncertainly, and Satriano reacted first to make it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. Celta continued to pass the ball, but Getafe showed a clearer sense of how to use it.
