STEM Africa Equips 3,800 Young Nigerians with Hands-on Skills

The sixth annual STEM Africa Fest 2026 transformed Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) into a major practical learning event for children in Nigeria, empowering over 3,800 participants. Themed ‘Building Future Innovators,’ the festival welcomed attendees from more than 119 schools for a day of discovery, experimentation, and creativity.

With 46 exhibitors, the event provided a platform for children to engage directly with innovation. Participants built, tested, and problem-solved through activities involving robotics, artificial intelligence, coding, engineering, science laboratories, and drone technology. Entrepreneurship was also a key focus, encouraging young minds to think commercially.

Mrs. Jadesola Adedeji, Co-founder of STEM Africa Fest, shared the vision behind the festival, highlighting children's natural curiosity. "Children are naturally curious," she stated. "We simply asked ourselves what learning would look like if they had the chance to explore, build, and discover things for themselves."

Adedeji explained the driving force behind the event: "We felt there had to be a better way to bring STEM to life beyond the classroom, and that’s the thinking that has shaped STEM Africa Fest from the very beginning." The festival aims to make STEM education more accessible and engaging, preparing the next generation of innovators.
