Storm Damages Power Poles, Causing Brief Outages in Mecklenburg Lake District

A recent storm caused significant damage to power infrastructure in the Mecklenburg Lake District, leaving two towns briefly without electricity. The severe weather impacted power poles in an area north of Warenshof, disrupting the network operated by E.DIS Netz GmbH on Friday evening.

While repair crews immediately took action, they faced challenges due to the ongoing storm, necessitating detours to reach affected areas. Through strategic switching measures, power supply was restored to the towns of Röbel and Waren within a few hours. However, the storm's impact was not entirely resolved for all residents.

Approximately 40 customers in the vicinity of Jabel experienced a prolonged outage due to a snapped cable. Repairs and restoration efforts for these customers continued into Saturday morning. By midday Saturday, all households had their power supply reinstated, with temporary replacement power units provided in the interim.
