Storms batter Klaipėda, causing floods and fallen trees

Klaipėda residents are documenting the severe impact of a powerful storm battering the city. Social media is flooded with images of "lakes" forming in courtyards and trees toppling over. Residents are warning each other to move cars from affected areas as streets turn into waterways.

The storm's fury has disrupted traffic, particularly on the road from Klaipėda to Kretingalė, where a fallen tree blocked passage. Firefighters are actively working on the Priekulė-Dreverna road, cautioning drivers about debris on the roads. Congestion is building at the Baltijos Avenue roundabout, and cars are submerged on Debreceno Street.

While some residents faced temporary water supply interruptions, these issues have reportedly been resolved. The main artery of Klaipėda, Taikos Avenue, is also flooded, highlighting the widespread nature of the storm's impact across the city.
