SUCOFINDO and ABPEDNAS Provide Clean Water Well for Toapaya Selatan Residents in Bintan

A new clean water well now serves the residents of Toapaya Selatan Village in Bintan, Kepulauan Riau. The facility, a collaboration between PT SUCOFINDO (Persero) and the Association of National Village Deliberative Bodies (ABPEDNAS), was inaugurated by the Vice Governor of Kepulauan Riau, Nyanyang Haris Pratamura.

Nyanyang Haris Pratamura praised PT SUCOFINDO's contribution, emphasizing that access to clean water is fundamental to improving community well-being, especially in areas with limited water sources. "Clean water is a basic necessity for the community, so the presence of this well is certainly very meaningful for the people of Toapaya Selatan. We express our appreciation to PT SUCOFINDO and all parties who have contributed," he stated. He urged the community to maintain the facility for long-term benefit and highlighted the importance of synergy between local government, corporations, community organizations, and residents.

The well is part of SUCOFINDO's larger social and environmental program to commemorate its 70th anniversary by constructing 70 clean water wells across Indonesia, funded by the company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. In Kepulauan Riau, this initiative includes two wells, one in Bintan and another in Karimun Regency. Sandry Pasambuna, President Director of PT SUCOFINDO, explained that the Toapaya Selatan well provides an additional source of clean water to support daily needs.

Indra Utama, the General Chairman of ABPEDNAS, also lauded the collaboration, viewing the project as a tangible demonstration of the spirit of building Indonesia from the grassroots. He expressed hope that the well would not only meet immediate water needs but also contribute to enhancing the overall quality of life for the residents of Toapaya Selatan.
