Summer warmth finally settles in

Lithuania is set to experience a period of summer warmth, with temperatures expected to reach 25-30 degrees Celsius on Monday. The day's weather will be influenced by a cyclone over Eastern Europe, bringing a mix of sunshine and clouds. However, by the afternoon, towering cumulonimbus clouds are likely to form, leading to short-lived summer showers across most of the country. These storms could bring heavy rain, lightning, thunder, and wind gusts of 15-20 m/s, with a possibility of hail in some locations.

As the week progresses, the weather is expected to stabilize. Tuesday will see clouds gradually dissipate, leading to clearer skies, though isolated showers and thunderstorms may still occur. The northwesterly wind will weaken, and fog might form in some areas after the rain. Overnight temperatures will cool to 11-16 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will range from 22-27 degrees.

By Wednesday, an anticyclone strengthening over Scandinavia will begin to dictate the weather. This will bring predominantly clear skies, with minimal cloud cover and a low probability of rain throughout the day and night. Winds will remain light. Temperatures will continue to hover between 11-16 degrees Celsius at night and 22-27 degrees during the day.

The forecast for Thursday and Friday indicates little change, with calm, dry, and summery conditions prevailing. The anticyclone's center will approach the country, ensuring mostly clear nights and partly cloudy days with a very low chance of rain. Temperatures are expected to remain consistent, ranging from 10-15 degrees Celsius at night to 22-27 degrees during the day. The weekend is predicted to be largely tranquil and warm, with only a slight possibility of isolated showers on Sunday.
