Summer weather expected in northern Germany with temperatures up to 31 degrees

Hamburg is expected to hit a high of 30 degrees, while inland Schleswig-Holstein will see temperatures up to 26 degrees. Helgoland will enjoy a comfortable 23 degrees, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's coast will reach 28 degrees, with inland areas potentially hitting 31 degrees.

However, the pleasant weather may be short-lived. Showers are expected overnight into Monday, with temperatures falling to lows between 17 and 12 degrees. The start of the week will see a shift as rain clouds move in from the northwest, dampening the summer mood. Despite the possibility of showers, the DWD anticipates clearer skies by the afternoon in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Coastal temperatures will be around 22 degrees in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with inland highs reaching 27 degrees.
