Sunny weather and 28 degrees expected at the start of the week

Residents in southwestern Germany can expect a pleasant start to the week, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching up to 28 degrees Celsius in the Rhine Valley on Monday.

However, this spell of good weather is set to be brief. The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts that dense clouds will move in overnight, bringing showers and potentially thunderstorms by Tuesday. The weather is expected to become more unsettled across the region.

Tuesday's forecast indicates largely overcast skies with persistent rain moving from southwest to northeast. Thunderstorms are also possible. Temperatures will be cooler, with highs around 21 degrees Celsius in the higher mountain regions. Despite the clouds and rain, areas along the Upper Rhine may still see milder temperatures up to 27 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a light southwesterly wind.

Midweek, the weather is expected to remain cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Conditions are forecast to become drier by Wednesday afternoon. In the mountains, summer-like temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius are anticipated, while lower-lying areas could reach nearly 30 degrees Celsius.
