Suspect arrested in Slim River convenience store robbery

Police have arrested a 25-year-old local man in Rawang, Selangor, in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Slim River. The incident occurred on July 1, when a 22-year-old woman reported being robbed by two unknown assailants.

According to Muallim District Police Chief Superintendent Khalid Mohamad, the suspects, armed with knives, allegedly made off with cash, jewelry, and two mobile phones. The total estimated loss from the robbery is RM4,800.

Following investigations and intelligence gathering, police apprehended the suspect in Rawang late on the previous night. A motorcycle believed to be linked to the crime was also seized. The Slim River Magistrate's Court has granted a six-day remand order for the suspect, extending until next Wednesday, to aid in the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for group robbery with weapons. Authorities are actively searching for a second individual believed to be involved in the incident and urge the public to provide any relevant information.
