Suspect in Killing of Camilo Séptimo Keyboardist Founded Five Companies, Records Show

Diego Sebastián Rosen Ferlini, identified as one of the alleged participants in the killing of Jonathan Meléndez, built a business network in Mexico City spanning printed materials, pharmaceutical marketing, corporate events and automated teller machines, according to public commercial records reviewed by El Universal.

Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch said investigators identified Rosen Ferlini as Meléndez’s associate. According to Harfuch, he “used that relationship of trust to enter the home” in Atizapán de Zaragoza where the crime was committed. El Universal’s review of company records, however, found no indication that Meléndez appeared as a partner in any of Rosen Ferlini’s companies.

The records trace Rosen Ferlini’s business activity in Mexico to August 2001, when he helped establish Ferlini, Rosen y Asociados in Mexico City. He held 10 shares worth 10,000 pesos and was a minority partner, while Marco Eladio Ferlini Bohm held 60 percent. The company’s stated activities included buying, selling, editing, importing, exporting and distributing books, magazines, pamphlets, audio and video recordings, multimedia materials and medical equipment. In 2004, it changed its corporate name to Comarketing Farmacéutico.

In July 2008, Rosen Ferlini founded Medical Branding de México. Commercial records list him as the holder of 50 percent of the shares, making him the largest partner among four. The company offered consulting, training, administration, advertising and promotional services, with a focus on organizing, promoting and selling scientific or social events, including congresses and conventions.

He later founded CAFADE with Aldo Martínez Toriello. The company’s activities covered the sale, export, installation and maintenance of automated teller machines. Records from the Public Registry of Commerce list Rosen Ferlini with 51 percent of the company’s 255 shares.
