Suspected Ebola case in Rajasthan ruled out after NIV report

A Ugandan woman admitted to RUHS Hospital in Jaipur with suspected Ebola-like symptoms has tested negative for the virus, health officials confirmed on Saturday. The National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune provided the conclusive test report, ruling out an Ebola infection.

The woman arrived in Jaipur on Friday morning aboard an Air Arabia flight originating from Uganda, with a layover in Sharjah. During routine health screening at Jaipur Airport, she exhibited symptoms that prompted medical officials to take immediate precautionary measures. She was subsequently transferred directly from the airport's Terminal-1 to a specialized isolation facility at RUHS Hospital.

At the hospital, the woman was placed under observation in a critical care unit designated for potential Ebola cases. While she displayed certain symptoms, her overall condition was reported as stable throughout the process. The swift action by health authorities ensured that any potential risk was managed effectively, and the negative test result has brought relief.
