Suspected killer of singer's mother-in-law captured in Panama

Panamanian authorities have arrested Andrés Felipe Arias, known as 'Chino Arias,' who is suspected of murdering María del Pilar Zea Cobo in Medellín over a year ago. Zea Cobo, the mother-in-law of Colombian singer Pipe Calderón, was a target of investigation by U.S. justice for her alleged participation in an international trafficking network.

The crime occurred in the parking lot of the exclusive Mall Del Este in Medellín. Zea Cobo arrived at the meeting point in her Toyota TX Land Cruiser with her partner, Jhon Fredy Toro Hincapié. She reportedly asked her partner to enter the mall to buy drinks while she spoke with Arias. Upon Toro's return, Zea Cobo had sustained two gunshot wounds to the head, and Arias had fled the scene.
