Suspected Right-Wing Extremist Arrested in Germany for Plotting Terror in Romania

German federal prosecutors have arrested a Romanian national in Baden-Württemberg on suspicion of founding a right-wing extremist terror group in his home country. The suspect is accused of attempting to ignite a "war of terror" and establish a state modeled on National Socialist ideology within Romania.

Authorities allege that since early 2023, the man used Germany as a base to organize the group. He reportedly operated two messenger channels, primarily targeting young Romanians, to recruit members. Through these channels, he is said to have encouraged subscribers to commit various offenses, including arson attacks against buildings used by migrants or LGBTQ+ individuals.

Further accusations include the dissemination of instructions for creating poisons, explosives, and Molotov cocktails, as well as car bombs. The Federal Prosecutor's Office suspects him of attempting to found a foreign terrorist organization and of preparing a severe act of violence that threatened the state.
