Suspensions begin for phone numbers ending in 1. Here is how to restore service immediately

Phone lines ending in 1 that were not linked by Mexico’s August 31 deadline are entering a suspension period, but users can regain service immediately after completing the required registration.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission said operators may suspend noncompliant lines within 72 hours starting September 1. Once a user completes the process with their mobile carrier, the service will reactivate immediately, with no additional waiting period.

Users have two options. They can register online through their carrier’s mobile platform, even if the line has already been suspended or has no remaining credit. The regulator said browsing the designated registration sites does not consume mobile data.

Users can also visit any customer service center operated by their carrier. To complete the process, they need only a valid official identification document and their CURP. The commission said biometric data will not be stored.

The regulator urged people who have not completed the procedure to act promptly, both to avoid service interruptions and to reduce possible queues at customer service centers. The registration process continues in stages, with September 15 set as the next deadline for numbers ending in 2.
