Swiss stem cell tech to boost Malaysian anti-aging innovation

A strategic partnership between Swiss biotechnology company Mibelle Biochemistry and Malaysia's NovaBio CellTech is set to accelerate the development of plant stem cell-based health products in Malaysia. This collaboration aims to expand preventative healthcare practices and promote the concept of regenerative longevity, or healthy aging.

Dr. Fred Zulli, founder of Mibelle Biochemistry, highlighted the company's pioneering role in plant stem cell technology, beginning with the development of an active ingredient from apple stem cells in 2008 after years of research. He clarified that these products are supplements and cosmetics, taken orally or applied topically, suitable for daily use, and are not medications or injections.

Dr. Gokula Mohan, Chief Researcher at Universiti Malaya (UM), commented that the launch of products under the GenEla and NuEla brands signifies a shift in societal approach, moving from post-illness treatment to early health maintenance for long-term well-being. "We are now entering a new era where society no longer relies solely on medication after falling ill but is beginning to focus on proactive health management," Mohan observed.
