Tai Po fire victim and petition organiser Jason Kong and wife charged with fraud and money laundering

Jason Kong, who advocated for the rights of fellow Tai Po fire victims, has been charged with fraud and money laundering alongside his wife, Rosanna Cheung.

Hong Kong police said on Sunday that the couple would appear at Sha Tin Magistrates’ Courts. The charges came more than three months after their arrests.

Kong is a resident of Wang Fuk Court, where he had spoken up for other people affected by the fire. The case now places the campaigner and his wife before the courts on financial crime allegations.
