Taichung Airport Travel Demand Grows, Express Bus Ridership Surges

Taichung's international airport is experiencing a surge in passenger demand, prompting a rise in ridership on its express bus services. The increase is attributed to a growing number of flight routes and the peak travel period, particularly during the summer holidays.

In response to this growing need, the Taichung City Government launched two express bus routes, the 555 and 333, connecting the city to Taichung International Airport. These services aim to provide a convenient public transportation option for travelers.

The uptake of these bus routes has been substantial, with significant increases in passenger numbers reported. This trend highlights a growing reliance on public transit for accessing the airport, especially as the city awaits the approval of a proposed MRT airport line. The feasibility study for the MRT line is currently under review by the Executive Yuan, indicating a longer-term development for public transport infrastructure to the airport.
