Taichung Millennium Hotel Becomes Art Museum: 19 Oil Paintings by Liu Baixue on Display

The Millennium Hotel in Taichung has transformed into an art space, showcasing "Enduring Scenery," a solo exhibition of 19 oil paintings by artist Emily Liu (Liu Baixue). The exhibition, part of the Cultural Affairs Bureau's Art Spotlight Project, runs until January 3, 2027.

The artist Liu Baixue previously exhibited at the hotel in 2024, and the stacking and tension of colors in her oil paintings, blending grandeur and elegance, not only resonated and touched countless viewers' hearts. It is a great honor to be invited to hold an exhibition at the hotel again in the second half of this year, allowing domestic and foreign guests to appreciate the beauty of oil painting masterpieces up close.

Liu's works explore themes of flowers, mountains, seas, and abstract concepts, all centered on nature. She uses rich colors, fluid brushstrokes, and light-filled compositions to depict the blooming, accumulation, and transformation of life across different seasons. The hotel aims to infuse its spaces with this vibrant energy.

Hotel General Manager Hsuan-chih Hsu noted Liu's previous successful exhibition at the hotel in 2024, praising the "power and elegance" of her layered colors. She expressed honor in inviting Liu back to display her significant oil paintings for both domestic and international guests.

Her art has evolved beyond mere depiction of natural scenery to a profound response to the flow of time, natural energy, and inner perception, showcasing a broader vision and freer expression in color and spatial layering.
