Tainan Mayor criticizes opposition parties for impacting social welfare groups

Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-cher has strongly criticized Taiwan's opposition parties, the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), for their role in freezing and cutting funds designated for the Presidential Office's operational expenses. Huang accused the opposition parties of hypocrisy, using the phrase "hitting someone while shouting for help" to describe their actions. He further stated that their decisions were creating a dilemma for these vulnerable groups. The mayor specifically pointed to Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen's comments about "abandoning orders," suggesting a broader issue within the opposition's approach.
