Taipei City Government delegation visits Kinmen to honor troops and foster inter-governmental exchange

This visit, part of the Dragon Boat Festival's 'Respect the Military' initiative, highlights Taipei's commitment to supporting Kinmen and its military personnel.

Kinmen County Government Secretary-General Chang Jui-hsin noted the success of joint efforts in areas like household registration, land administration, and tax services, which have significantly eased burdens for Kinmen residents living in Taiwan. This collaboration exemplifies how different government bodies can learn from each other to improve citizen services.

Since 2014, with the assistance of the Taipei City Government, Kinmen residents living on the main island can handle household registration, land administration, and tax services remotely, saving them the trouble of traveling between Taiwan and Kinmen.

Deputy Mayor Chang expressed confidence in Kinmen's development, particularly in tourism and its famous distillery, viewing it as a "bright pearl" of Taiwan. He pledged Taipei's willingness to cooperate on any matter that serves the public, fostering mutual learning and growth between the city and county governments. The visit also included a morale-boosting mission to comfort soldiers stationed in Kinmen, reinforcing the solidarity between Taipei and the island's defense forces.
