Taipei Taishin Mars Sign Center Wang Sheng-lin to Boost Frontcourt

The Taipei Taishin Mars basketball team has officially signed 205cm center Wang Sheng-lin, a move aimed at strengthening their interior presence for the upcoming season. The 25-year-old player brings significant height and potential to the team's roster.

Wang Sheng-lin has previously represented Taiwan, having been selected for the 2024 Jones Cup and the 2025 Summer Universiade squads. The team recognizes his physical attributes and developmental upside, anticipating that with dedicated training and a structured development plan, he can become a key contributor in the future.

Last season, Wang played for the SBL's Keelung New Taipei CTBC Eagles, appearing in eight regular-season games. He averaged 10 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. His career-best performance came on April 16th against Taiwan Bank, where he scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 26 minutes of play, shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from two-point range.

Looking ahead to his debut in the TPBL, Wang expressed his desire to adapt quickly to the team and build chemistry with his new teammates. He highlighted his defensive capabilities as his primary asset and emphasized his commitment to improving his screening and pick-and-roll execution to offer the team more offensive options.

Wang specifically cited veteran player Tseng Wen-ting as an inspiration, aiming to emulate his extensive game experience and on-court performance. Wang recalled practicing with Tseng during his college years and benefiting from his guidance. He also acknowledged past doubts about his basketball career but credited coaches Wu Jian-long and Mars' COO Yang Sheng-kai for their continuous encouragement, which motivated him to continue pursuing his passion.
