Taiwan People's Party to hold anniversary in Taichung to boost election candidates

The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) is intensifying its efforts in Taichung by scheduling its annual party anniversary celebration in the city on August 2nd. With the year-end elections just five months away, the TPP is prioritizing the Taichung constituency, aiming to boost the profile of its six nominated city council candidates. Party chairman Ko Wen-je and current chairman Huang Kuo-chang are slated to attend the event. The TPP hopes this high-profile gathering will translate into increased electoral success, aiming to secure more seats than in the previous election cycle. The party has largely finalized its nominations for Taichung, with discussions ongoing regarding a potential candidate in the Central and Western District. Confirmed candidates include Chen Yung-hsiang for the 2nd constituency (Qingshui, Wuri, Shalu), Lien Hsiao-hua for the 4th constituency (Houton, Fengyuan), Liu Chin-yu for the 6th constituency (Xitun), Chiu Yu-shan for the 8th constituency (Beitun), Hsu Shu-hao for the 12th constituency (Taiping), and incumbent councilor Chiang Ho-shu for the 13th constituency (Dali, Wufeng). Taichung party chairman Chen Ching-lung stated that all TPP party officials and elected representatives will be present to rally support for the candidates. He noted that the party anniversary rotates locations annually, with previous celebrations held in Kaohsiung and Taoyuan. The TPP plans to leverage both online and offline campaigns, including a series of live online programs featuring the Taichung candidates to enhance their public recognition.
