Taiwan's 7-11 integrates YouCam AI for photo editing and avatar generation

Taiwan's ubiquitous 7-11 convenience stores have introduced YouCam AI technology into their ibon kiosks, offering consumers a new way to edit photos and create personalized AI avatars. This integration allows users to upload images through the ibon website or the OPENPOINT APP.

Once uploaded, the AI technology provides instant services such as background removal, photo retouching, and the generation of professional-looking headshots and avatars. Customers can then print these creations directly at any 7-11 store, eliminating the need for separate photo editing software and streamlining the process.

The move is expected to significantly boost convenience by utilizing 7-11's vast network of over 7,300 stores across Taiwan. This widespread accessibility ensures that the AI photo services are readily available to a large consumer base.

This collaboration between YouCam and ibon is designed to demonstrate the scalability of AI image API technology in high-traffic consumer environments. YouCam's CEO, Chiu Hsin-chen, highlighted that convenience stores are key contact points for consumers, making ibon an ideal platform to validate the large-scale application of AI image APIs. The partnership focuses on transforming platforms with an API-first approach, aiming to make AI image technology a foundation for quantifiable business results rather than just a demonstration of capabilities.
