Taiwan to host 2027 Baseball World 12, 2028 Olympic qualifiers

Taiwan has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2027 Baseball World 12 Premier 12 tournament's preliminary and intermediate rounds, as well as the final Olympic qualifying tournament in 2028. The announcement was made by the Baseball Association of Taiwan, with Secretary-General Lin Tsung-cheng confirming the details.

The primary venue for these significant international baseball events will be the newly constructed Taipei Dome. Complementing the main stadium, the Tianmu Baseball Stadium and Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium have been designated as secondary venues. Lin Tsung-cheng indicated that these venues should be readily available, especially since the professional baseball season will have concluded by then.

"Ticket sales are also a consideration," Lin stated, emphasizing the importance of drawing large crowds. "In principle, the Taipei Dome is the main venue, with Tianmu and Xinzhuang as secondary venues."

Even if Taiwan secures an Olympic berth through the 2027 Premier 12 tournament, the 2028 Olympic qualifying event will proceed as planned. Lin explained that these two events were bundled together as a condition for Taiwan to host, highlighting the excitement and opportunity they present for Taiwanese fans to witness top-tier international baseball.
