Taiwanese Stars Hu Gua and Huang Chung-kun Share Memories and Retirement Plans on Wulai Trip

Veteran Taiwanese television host Hu Gua, along with comedian Min Xiong and veteran actor Huang Chung-kun, embarked on a nostalgic journey to Wulai, a picturesque hot spring resort area. The reunion, filmed for Hu Gua's YouTube channel, transformed into a "men's memoir" as the three old friends reminisced about their military service and early days in the entertainment industry.

Their adventure involved a unique challenge: reaching the "paradise unreachable by car," Xianyun Resort, by seeking directions from passersby and utilizing various modes of transport, including a cable car. Along the way, they were frequently recognized by fans, leading to numerous photo opportunities. The camaraderie was evident as they shared stories, with Hu Gua playfully recalling his senior role in the army arts troupe over Huang Chung-kun, whom he considered a "god" for his talent.

Huang Chung-kun, known for his hit song "How Much Love Can Be Repeated," shared a personal revelation about his retirement plans. He disclosed that he purchased a substantial 600 ping (approximately 1,983 square meters) of land in Yangmingshan three decades ago. This land now serves as a serene resting place for his mother, who passed away in 2023, with a tree burial ceremony. He humorously recounted inviting fellow entertainer Yang Fan to visit the site, only for Yang to remark on the presence of mosquitoes, prompting Hu Gua to jokingly call Yang a "city kid."
