Tamaulipas Governor praises National Guard, welcomes new state coordinator

Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal has lauded the National Guard's role in bolstering security and fostering social integration within the state. His remarks came during the official ceremony marking the assumption of duties by the new state coordinator for the National Guard, Brigadier General Mauricio Cansino Báez.

Governor Villarreal affirmed that Tamaulipas strictly adheres to the security strategy set forth by President Claudia Sheinbaum. He emphasized the importance of coordination, trust, and continuous communication as key elements that have led to successful security outcomes, validated by national institutions. The governor also noted the enhanced focus on intelligence generation, where the National Guard plays a crucial part.

During the ceremony, overseen by interim coordinator General Andrés Ojeda Ramírez, Governor Villarreal highlighted the increased presence of both National Guard and State Guard personnel. This expansion aims to strengthen deterrence, prevention, and response capabilities to criminal activities across Tamaulipas. "We are very grateful, very recognized for your presence and participation in all the security activities of our entity," Villarreal stated, expressing hope for continued public trust and reporting to uphold the rule of law.

Brigadier General Mauricio Cansino Báez, the newly appointed state coordinator, is a graduate of the Heroico Colegio Militar and possesses extensive military education, including advanced studies in strategic command and international relations. His appointment signifies a continued commitment to strengthening security operations in the region.
